In the unusual situation that there is a split pot, and the money does not come out evenly: the dealer should break down the chips to the lowest chip denomination normally used in the game. For instance, in a $5-$10 game – in a split pot – $25 chips will be broken down into $5 chips, but $5 chips will not be broken down into $1 chips. Money left over less than this chip amount will be given to the player in the worst position (closest to the button), or the first player to show down.
